Project Proposal Template
Writes persuasive project proposals that secure approval and funding. Covers problem framing, solution design, scope, timeline, budget, risks, and success metrics.
Usage
Describe the project idea, the problem it solves, expected benefits, estimated resources needed, and the audience (internal leadership, client, grant committee). Specify the level of formality and detail required.
Examples
- "Write a project proposal for implementing a new CRM system across the sales organization"
- "Create a client proposal for a 6-month website redesign project with phased delivery"
- "Draft an internal proposal for a developer productivity initiative requiring $50K budget and 2 FTEs"
Guidelines
- Open with the business problem and its cost; decision-makers approve solutions to expensive problems
- Define scope clearly including what is NOT included (out of scope) to prevent scope creep
- Provide realistic timelines with dependencies and assumptions documented
- Include a risk assessment with mitigation strategies for the top 3-5 risks
- Define measurable success criteria so the project can be objectively evaluated upon completion
