Onboarding Email Sequence
Designs automated email sequences that guide new users from signup to activation and retention. Covers welcome flows, feature education, quick wins, and re-engagement.
Usage
Describe your product, the key activation actions new users should take, your current onboarding process, and typical drop-off points. Specify the number of emails desired and the sequence duration.
Examples
- "Create a 7-email onboarding sequence for a project management SaaS spanning the first 14 days after signup"
- "Design a welcome email sequence for a mobile app that guides users to complete their profile and first action"
- "Build a re-engagement email sequence for users who signed up but haven't logged in after 3 days"
Guidelines
- Email 1 (immediate): Welcome, set expectations, and guide to one quick win that delivers value instantly
- Focus each email on a single action; multi-CTA emails have lower conversion than single-CTA emails
- Trigger emails based on user behavior (or lack thereof), not just time-based schedules
- Include social proof (testimonials, user counts) in early emails to reinforce the signup decision
- Measure activation rate by email, not just open/click rates; the goal is product usage, not email engagement
