Book Synopsis Writer
Writes compelling book synopses for query letters, agent submissions, and publisher proposals. Creates summaries at various lengths that capture your book's essence, plot arc, characters, and market appeal.
Usage
Provide the book's genre, word count, plot summary, main characters, themes, and target audience. Specify the synopsis length needed (one-paragraph pitch, one-page summary, or full 2-3 page synopsis) and whether it's for a query letter or proposal.
Examples
- "Write a one-page synopsis for my 85,000-word literary thriller about a forensic accountant uncovering a conspiracy"
- "Create a query letter paragraph for a YA fantasy novel featuring a young mage in a crumbling empire"
- "Draft a full synopsis for a non-fiction book proposal about the psychology of decision-making in high-stress jobs"
Guidelines
- Include the ending in a full synopsis; agents and editors need to know the resolution, not be teased
- Focus on the protagonist's emotional journey alongside the plot events; motivation matters as much as action
- Write in present tense and third person, even if the book is first person
- For query pitches, use the formula: character + situation + choice + stakes in 2-3 sentences
- Include comparable titles (comp titles) and market positioning to help agents see where your book fits
