Press Release Template
Creates professional press releases formatted for newswire distribution and media pickup. Follows AP style guidelines with proper datelines, inverted pyramid structure, attributed quotes, and company boilerplate sections.
Usage
Provide the news announcement details: what happened, when, who is involved, why it matters, and any supporting data or quotes. Specify your company name, location, and the target media outlets or industry.
Examples
- "Write a press release announcing our Series A funding of $12M led by Sequoia for our AI-powered supply chain platform"
- "Create a product launch press release for a new mobile banking app targeting underbanked communities"
- "Draft a partnership announcement between our edtech startup and a major university system"
Guidelines
- Lead with the most newsworthy information in the first paragraph answering who, what, when, where, and why
- Include 1-2 direct quotes from company leadership and optionally from partners or customers
- Keep the total length to one page (400-500 words); journalists prefer concise releases
- End with a standard boilerplate paragraph describing your company and a media contact section
- Use AP style: spell out numbers under 10, use title case for headlines, include the city and date in the dateline
