Kling Video on OpenClaw: v3, O3 and Turbo Compared

Kling is usually the most heavily represented video family in the OpenClaw Launch model picker — v3, O3, v2.6, 2.5 Turbo and 2.1 all appear. They are not interchangeable, and the cheapest and dearest are nearly 5x apart per second. Here is which one to pick and what each actually costs.

Kling Runs Through Your fal Key

Kling is made by Kuaishou. On OpenClaw Launch you reach it through fal.ai, which hosts the whole Kling lineup. Add a fal key on your API Keys page and the fal group in your instance's Video dropdown unlocks — see the fal.ai setup guide for the provider-level walk through. Billing is pay-as-you-go on your own fal account.

The Generations, Briefly

  • Kling v3 — the current flagship. Cinematic output, fluid motion, and native audio generated in the same pass. Text-to-video adds multi-shot support; image-to-video adds custom elements.
  • Kling O3 — the frame-control line. You hand it a start frame and an end frame and it animates the transition, following text guidance for style and scene. There is also an O3 reference-to-video endpoint for holding character identity and object detail steady across a scene.
  • Kling v2.6 — previous-generation Pro with native audio, and the cheapest route to silent video in the lineup at $0.07 per second.
  • Kling 2.5 Turbo — tuned for motion fluidity and prompt precision, priced per 5-second block rather than per second.
  • Kling 2.1 — the older cost-efficient tier, still the default anchor row in the OpenClaw Launch dropdown.

What Each Variant Costs

Kling prices audio separately, which is the single most important thing to understand before you point an agent at it. Turning audio on can nearly double the bill, and voice control adds more again.

VariantNo audioWith audioWith voice control
v3 Pro (t2v + i2v)$0.112 / sec$0.168 / sec$0.196 / sec
v3 Standard (t2v + i2v)$0.084 / sec$0.126 / sec$0.154 / sec
O3 Pro$0.112 / sec$0.14 / sec
O3 Standard$0.084 / sec$0.112 / sec
v2.6 Pro$0.07 / sec$0.14 / sec$0.168 / sec

The Turbo and 2.1 tiers are billed per block instead: 2.5 Turbo Pro is $0.35 for 5 seconds then $0.07 per extra second, 2.5 Turbo Standard is $0.21 then $0.042, 2.1 Pro is $0.49 then $0.098, and 2.1 Standard is $0.28 then $0.056.

A worked example. A 5-second clip on v3 Pro with audio and voice control costs about $0.98. The same 5 seconds on v2.6 Pro with no audio is $0.35, and on 2.5 Turbo Standard it is $0.21. If your agent generates clips in a busy group chat, that difference compounds fast — and it is your fal key being billed, not a plan credit.

Which One Should Your Agent Use?

  • Default to v3 Standard. It is the current generation, and once you want sound it undercuts v2.6 Pro — $0.126 per second against $0.14.
  • Pick v3 Pro when output quality is the point — marketing clips, anything a customer sees.
  • Pick O3 when you have a specific start and end image and want a controlled transition rather than a free-running generation.
  • Pick v2.6 Pro or 2.5 Turbo for high-volume silent clips where cost per generation matters more than the last 10% of fidelity.

Setting It Up

  1. Create a fal key at fal.ai/dashboard/keys and save it on your API Keys page.
  2. On your instance card, open the Video dropdown and select the fal.ai provider group.
  3. Pick a Kling row. The fal list is refreshed daily from fal's trending endpoints, so the exact set shifts — type “Kling” in the dropdown search box to find the variant you want.
  4. Ask your agent for a clip in chat. The MP4 comes back in the conversation on Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp, WeChat, or the web.
