Guidelines

  • UV index 1-2 is low; 3-5 moderate; 6-7 high; 8+ very high
  • Peak UV hours are typically 10 AM to 4 PM
  • Clouds reduce but don't eliminate UV radiation
  • Reapply sunscreen every 2 hours and after swimming
  • UV levels are higher at altitude and near reflective surfaces
