Crowdfunding Campaign Guide
Plans and executes successful crowdfunding campaigns. Covers campaign strategy, reward design, page optimization, pre-launch audience building, and backer engagement throughout the campaign.
Usage
Describe your product, target funding goal, chosen platform (Kickstarter, Indiegogo, GoFundMe), timeline, and current audience size. Specify whether this is a creative project, product launch, or community fundraiser.
Examples
- "Plan a Kickstarter campaign for a board game with a $25,000 goal including reward tiers and stretch goals"
- "Create the campaign page copy for a tech gadget launch on Indiegogo with an early-bird pricing strategy"
- "Design a 60-day pre-launch plan to build an email list of 5,000 potential backers before our campaign"
Guidelines
- Build your audience before launching; campaigns that reach 30% funding in the first 48 hours are far more likely to succeed
- Design 3-5 reward tiers with clear value progression; the most popular tier is typically 2-3x your lowest
- Set a realistic minimum funding goal; you can always exceed it, but failing to meet it means zero funding on Kickstarter
- Plan your campaign video to be under 3 minutes: show the problem, your solution, and ask for support
- Communicate updates at least weekly during the campaign; silence makes backers nervous about project viability
