Academic Reference Manager
Organizes and formats academic references and citations. Covers APA, MLA, Chicago, IEEE, and other citation styles with bibliography management, source evaluation, and annotated bibliography creation.
Usage
Provide the source information (title, author, year, publication, URL) and the citation style needed. Specify whether you need in-text citations, reference list entries, or annotated bibliography entries.
Examples
- "Format these 15 sources in APA 7th edition for my research paper's reference list"
- "Create an annotated bibliography in MLA format for 10 sources on renewable energy policy"
- "Convert my Chicago-style citations to IEEE format for a conference paper submission"
Guidelines
- Double-check every citation element: author names, dates, titles, and page numbers are common error sources
- Pay attention to subtle style differences: APA uses '&' between authors while MLA uses 'and'
- For online sources, include DOI over URL when available; DOIs are permanent while URLs can break
- Evaluate source credibility: peer-reviewed journals, reputable publishers, and current publication dates
- Use citation management tools like Zotero or Mendeley to automate formatting and prevent inconsistencies
