OpenClaw v2026.2.17: Sonnet 4.6, iOS Share Extension, Slack Streaming

Source: GitHub

OpenClaw v2026.2.17 is a feature-packed release with contributions from over 70 developers, bringing major improvements to AI model support, mobile, and messaging platforms.

Anthropic Sonnet 4.6 & 1M Context

This release adds support for Anthropic’s Sonnet 4.6 model with forward-compatibility fallback. Users can also opt into the 1M context beta for both Opus and Sonnet models via anthropic-beta headers, enabling much longer conversations without context loss.

iOS Share Extension

A new iOS share extension lets users forward URLs, text, and images directly to their OpenClaw gateway from any app. Combined with a new Background Listening toggle for Talk Mode and QR-first onboarding, the iOS experience is significantly more polished.

Native Slack Streaming

Slack users now see real-time streaming responses as agents type, using Slack’s native startStream, appendStream, and stopStream APIs. This replaces the previous approach of editing messages repeatedly.

More Platform Updates

  • Telegram — Inline button styling (primary/success/danger) and user reactions surfaced as system events.
  • iMessage — replyToId support for outbound sends.
  • Discord — Reusable interactive components and per-button user allowlists.
  • Subagents — New /subagents spawn command for deterministic subagent activation.

The release also includes a critical fix for a credential theft vulnerability (OC-09) via environment injection. All users should update promptly.
